Just a 20 minute ferry ride from the mainland of BC and with a population of only 4,500, Bowen Island boasts a healty six team men’s fastpitch league!

If Greater Vancouver, with a population of 3.1 million, produced the same ratio of teams by population, there would be more than four thousand teams – yet men’s fastpitch has dwindled down to just ten teams in 2025.

Granted, the calibre of play in the mainland is considerably higher, but why such a drastic difference?
